Worksuite gives you several ways to communicate with your client — all within the platform so your conversations stay organized and in one place. This article explains how messaging works and where to find each type.
Messages in Worksuite go directly to your client — the company that hired you. Worksuite Support does not monitor these messages. If you need help from Worksuite, use the Support button in the bottom left of your dashboard instead.Option 1: Send a Private Message from Your Dashboard
Private messages are direct conversations between you and your client — like a chat thread, separate from any specific task or onboarding step. Use this for general questions or anything that doesn't belong in a specific task.
- Log in to your Worksuite account.
- From your dashboard, find and click Messages in the left-hand navigation panel.
- Select your client's conversation thread, or start a new message if prompted.
- Type your message in the text field and click Send.
- You'll receive an email notification when your client replies. You can respond either from within Worksuite or by replying directly to the notification email.
Option 2: Message Within an Onboarding Workflow Stage
Your client can send you messages directly within a specific onboarding stage — for example, if they have a question about something you submitted or need to give you instructions for that step.
- Navigate to the onboarding stage where your client sent a message. You'll receive an email notification alerting you to check it.
- Open that stage in Worksuite — you'll see the message thread appear within the stage.
- Type your reply and click Send.
Your client must send the first message in a workflow stage before you can reply there. If you have a question about a specific stage and don't see a message thread yet, use the Dashboard Messages option above or email your client directly.Option 3: Message Within a Task
Once you've been assigned a task, you can send messages that are tied directly to that task. This is the best way to ask questions about the work itself — like timelines, deliverables, or feedback on submitted work.
- Go to Tasks & Projects in your dashboard and open the relevant task.
- Scroll down to the Messages section within the task view.
- Type your message and click Send.
- Your client will be notified and can reply within the same thread.
Tips for Messaging on Worksuite
- Check your email for notifications. Every time your client sends you a message, you'll receive an email alert. Make sure your email address in Worksuite is current.
- You can reply by email. When you receive a message notification by email, you can reply directly from your email client — your response will appear in Worksuite automatically.
- Keep it organized. Use task messages for task-specific questions and private dashboard messages for everything else. This helps your client route your questions to the right person.
- Project and assignment questions go to your client. If you're asking about task availability, start dates, or work assignments, contact your client directly. Worksuite Support handles technical platform issues only.
